Every fixed standby set Canning supplies is canopied, and the canopy is what makes it usable: a weatherproof acoustic enclosure that drops running noise to a level acceptable beside an office, a hotel or a residential boundary. These are diesel generators built to sit outside permanently, wired to an automatic transfer switch so they start on mains failure without anyone present. Canning can supply this range from around 10 kVA to 4,165 kVA, in canopied and containerised form, with bunded base fuel tanks, remote monitoring and a maintenance contract. Ratings are quoted as emergency standby power, prime power and, on the larger sets, data centre power.
